  • Abilities - Cyborg - Start with 1,000 cr work of cybernetic enhancements that do not count towards strain reduction. Skilljack (Rating 1) - When connected to the Matrix, increase Knowledge skills by 1. Can slot in skillchip to gain rank 1 in that skill (this does not stack with training).
  • Talents - Bought Info (Active - Action) When making a knowledge check, can spend money equal to 50 x number of difficulty dice to automatically succeed on the knowledge check. Corporate Drone (Passive) When you take this talent, your character gains Knowledge (Society) or Negotiation as a career skill. In addition, once per session, your character may collect a small favor from any other member of a single corporation (chosen when you take this talent - Renraku), even if they do not owe your character a favor. Custom Code (Passive) When your character selects this talent they choose one icebreaker or piece of ice that they own. If they choose an icebreaker, whenever they use that icebreaker to override ice, they add an Advantage to the results. If they choose a piece of ice, whenever someone else attempts to override it, they add Threat to the results. Custom Rig (Passive, Rank 2) Choose one computer, the amount of ice or icebreakers that they can have on that computer is increase by 1 per rank. Can change to a new computer, and stops working on the old. Know Somebody (Active - Incidental, Rank 1) Once per session, when attempting to purchase a legally available item, your character may use this talent to reduce its rarity by one per rank of Know Somebody. Net Search (Active - Manoeuvre) If you have access to a network, may use this talent to upgrade the ability dice twice, and the difficulty once. The GM must spend any Despair on learning something relevant and believable that turns out to be completely (and possibly maliciously) false.

    Here is a walk through of the character creation process of Characters in the Genesys system. It will contain notes about why certain choices were made for the campaign it was built for as well as a complete stat block that can be used to run the character in a game session.

    Motivations

    Each of the characters has one motivation to choose and gains an additional motivation as a campaign motivation. Motivations are sorted out at the end of each part of a story chapter. This could be 1 to 5 sessions.

    • Desires – Expertise – Your character wants to excel in a chosen field or skill. To achieve perfection, your character prActives constantly.
    • Fear – Poverty – For your character, it’s all about wealth and security. They fear being without, and they work hard to amass money, supplies, and other valuable items to ensure their status.
    • Strengths – Witty – Your character is extremely clever, with the right joke for a friend and the perfect insult for a foe. Some may love their company, while others loathe their cutting remarks, but none can deny that your character has the sharpest tongue around.
    • Flaw – Pride – Pride does not always have to be a Flaw, but it can easily become one. Your character is arrogant, vain, or self-absorbed, or thinks highly of themselves at the expense of others

    Ex-Corporate - You were let go for accessing something you were not supposed to. While happy to see you let go, they are just waiting till enough time has passed for them to being able to erase the mistake permanently without raising suspicions.
