Level 9 Spell - Circle of Devastation

• Evocation 9th Level (Elements, Divine, Evil, Ring)
• Secret Crafts - Air, Dark, Craft, Earth, Elements, Fire, Water
• Casting time - 1 action
• Range - 1 mile
• Components - V, S, M (a metal ring)
• Duration - Instantaneous
• You create a 10ft tall, 20ft radius ring of destructive energy around a point you can see within range. The area inside the ring is difficult terrain. When you cast the spell and as a bonus action on each of your turns, you can choose a damage type based on your secret craft. Creatures and objects that touch the ring, that are inside it when it’s created, or that end their turn inside the ring take 6d6 damage of the chosen type, or half damage with a successful Constitution saving throw. A creature or object reduced to 0 hit points by the spell is reduced to fine ash.
• The elements you have access to depend on the secret craft you have access to.
  • Airologist – Lighting and Thunder
  • Celestologist – Psychic and Radiant
  • Craftologist – Acid, Cold, Fire, Lighting, Poison
  • Darkologist – Necrotic and Psychic
  • Earthologist – Acid and Poison
  • Fiendologist – Fire and Psychic
  • Fireologist – Fire and Radiant
  • Waterologist – Cold on Force
• At the start of each of your subsequent turns, the ring’s radius expands by 20ft. Any creatures or objects touched by the expanding ring are subject to its effects immediately.
• Secret Craft Bonus - If you have advanced in the Elementologist secret craft, you can use this spell to combine the elements you have learnt to combine in that craft.

Original Spell Lists Ring, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard

One thing to note, is that all spells that I am adding into this blog have the Spell list removed from them, besides anything I might be doing to tweak them for my home campaign. There is a source there if you want to look up the original version of the spell for your own campaigns, but mine does not need that information.

What has been added is the Secret Crafts, which replace the spell lists, as all spells not from the players handbook will only be available as part of the secret crafts of the world.
