Downtime Overview

Mystara of the Five Spheres D&D Downtime Short Rest of Arduous Rally

USED IN PLACE OF A SHORT REST

Downtime activity for achieving quick healing and moving on, at the cost of the characters long term health.

This can be done if the party has character willing to stand up and give a speech taking on the leadership role. If the player makes a speech and it is inspirational, then you can give advantage to the roll, if it is more insulting to the characters then it can impose disadvantage instead.

Check - The leader of the party spends 5 minutes and makes a DC 15 Skill check (usually a Charisma (Persuasion) roll).

For the check you can choose any of the skills you can convince the GM is appropiate for the check.

Event breakdown
• Requirements (What you need to make the check in session)
• Note - Can be done while travelling (usually not done during extended downtime as there is no need for it)
• Base Check DC = 15 (+1 for each adruous rally already done since a long rest)
• Time (What you need to make the check in session)
• 30 minutes
• Cost per Week (What you need to make the check in session)
• No cost as this is not a weekly check.
• Check (What you need to make the check in session, between sessions the d20 in the check is replaced by 10)
• Skill = d20 + skill (or tool) bonus + Settlment Modifier + Lifestyle Modifier + Renown

Check Result
• Failed by more than 10 – All characters gain two levels of exhaustion for no benifit, or suffer three levels to gain the benefits of a short rest.
• Failed – All characters gain one level of exhaustion for no benefit, or suffer two levels to gain the benefits of a short rest.
• Success – No effect, or suffer one level of exhaustion to gain the benefot of a short rest.
• Suceed by more than 10 – All characters gain the benefits of a short rest.

There are no further complications other than the failure options.
